Update 10:44am: Megyn Kelly is now dropping hints that Fox will air a major documentary on ACORN next week. Kelly says they have been working on it for weeks. These ACORN videos have been effectively used to impact as many news cycles as possible. We hope ACORN wasn’t expecting this scandal to fade away with the weekend break, because it looks like it might only get bigger.
Glenn Beck is dropping hints on his Fox News TV show that tomorrow’s show ”will drive them crazy.” He was referring to the White House specifically and liberals in general. It was unclear in context whether tomorrow’s news will focus on the czar controversy he set off by exposing Van Jones as a communist and 9/11 Truther or the ACORN scandal that his show has featured for the last week. The D.C. Writeup suspects that there are least a few more ACORN videos, so it’s very possible the hints refer to a new, and yet more ridiculous ACORN video.
We have to wonder whether the videos are building to something even bigger. To be clear, this is pure and unsupported speculation, but some details in the ACORN videos are perplexing. Two examples are having Hannah Giles, the woman playing the prostitute, dress the same way for each video, and the filmmakers consistent use of the story that 13 year old El Salvadorian girls were going to be smuggled into the country. Common sense would indicate that as they went from office to office they should change their story and dress to avoid possible detection if ACORN offices were communicating with each other.
However, each new video is remarkably consistent and might indicate that the investigation is intent on exposing an issue more specific than general moral depravity and widespread corruption in ACORN. Each new video shows depths of behavior we never thought possible, until the next video breaks, which makes the prospect of more videos tantalizing. In addition, Beck has dropped numerous hints that this scandal reaches all they way up the food chain. Whether that refers to ACORN officials or if he has proof of corruption by elected officials remains to be seen.
Whether this is building to something or not, each new video is a mini-scandal in and of itself and Beck, Congressional Republicans, and the right wing blogosphere have been quick to capitalize.
Some have derided Glenn Beck’s politics and tone as extreme, an accusation we could sympathize with, however, Beck’s current success is undeniable. Beck scored first by bringing down Van Jones, President Obama’s special adviser on green jobs, and now the ACORN videos by filmmakers James O’Keefe and Hannah Giles, released by BigGovernment.com, must have Beck on Cloud 9. Beck, who only a month ago could have been dismissed as just another commentator, has become a major force on the political scene.
Remember to visit The D.C. Writeup tomorrow morning as we provide updated commentary on Beck’s radio show.

Measuring the verocity of anger and hate from liberals about Beck these days – it appears he is QUITE successful.
It is quite amusing – the HARDER libs try shutting down conservative personalities (Rush, Hannity, O’Reilly, Beck) – the LARGER the audience becomes and the BIGGER their paychecks.
Libs are getting punk’d

@Jon in CA, I’ve been having a blast the past two weeks, just watching all the far left explode. You are sooooo right–libs are getting punk’d. Go Glenn Beck!

Your analysis is flawed. If Giles and O’Keefe left the ACORN offices with ACORN still duped why would they call other offices to inform them that there is a sting op happening? Also, can you describe to me the exact clothes a person wore when you only talked with them for an hour? Maybe somethings might stick out but the whole ensemble…I doubt it.
That’s why people like Giles and O’Keefe get the breaking news and folks like yourself regurgitate it. You lack the critical thinking skills to engage an adversary.

Wow. What a stinging rebuke. Did you ever consider that maybe an ACORN employee could reflect on the conversation after O’Keefe and Giles left and decided it was probably fake? Or maybe some of the employees were humoring them and planned to report it to their superiors after they left the office. Or maybe they tried the ploy at some locations and were rejected. We don’t know because we haven’t seen all the videos. There are numerous scenarios where ACORN could have passed the word on without Giles or O’Keefe having any idea. Additionally, Giles is dressed pretty garishly in every video, and from what I can tell in similar, if not the exact same clothing.
So my point, which you clearly missed, is that they took a risk using the same identities and story at each location. They probably knew they were taking a risk by doing this, but decided to do it anyway. I merely speculated on why they made that decision, especially if they took that risk to prove a larger, yet unknown, point.
