Democrats and Republicans alike have been shocked over the past few days as hidden-camera video after hidden camera video has surfaced regarding the practices of ACORN. In the videos, two actors, James and Hannah, pose as a prostitute and a pimp seeking an illegal housing loan for a brothel. So far, three videos, filmed at ACORN facilities in Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and New York City, have been released and broadcast on news channels.
Regarding the corruption that is continuing to come to light, Beck cautions that we shouldn’t look at this issue on the surface, it isn’t about the people on the ground of ACORN. Rather, Beck says that “This is about the whole philosophy behind community organizing.”
Running Commentary
On Glenn Beck’s radio program this morning, Beck played new audio clips from a fourth incident that had also been taped under-cover. This tape comes from San Bernadino, Calfornia. Once again James and Hannah pose as a prostitute “Eden” and a pimp and are speaking with an employee named Theresa.
Upon their arrival, Theresa asks them if they are familiar with ACORN, the actors state they are, and Theresa goes on to tell them that “We say we are non-partisan.” Which implies that they are in fact, not. Like we didn’t know that already.
When James and Hannah reveal their “professions,” Theresa divulges that she herself used to run an escort service and seemingly thinks that Hannah’s job as a prostitute is great. Even better, Theresa says “Heidi Fleiss is my hero.”
James and Hannah additionally reveal they are planning on smuggling El Salvadorian underage girls into the United States to fund future political campaigns, to which the ACORN worker voices no objection what-so-ever.
10:54am: As the audio continues, James divulges his aspirations to run for an elected office someday. In enthusiastic response, Theresa says she speaks with Congressman and Senators every day. She names Senator Barbara Boxer and Senator McCleod, and 62nd district Assemblywoman Wilmer Amina Carter. Theresa says that “Eden’s” prostitution money would be an asset to him in his quest to become a Senator or Representative.
11:01am: Regarding the legislators that she speaks with, Theresa says that they (most likely herself and their ACORN office) are lobbying these law makers in behalf of health care reform. Apparently, this “non-partisan” organization that gets government money for housing assistance is using tax dollars for health care lobbying.
11:15am: Theresa discloses that her ex-husband abused her and “beat the hell out of” her. She then continues to confess, “I killed him . . . . I shot him.” She notes that she had laid some “groundwork” beforehand. When James and Hannah question her as to whether he was abusing her when she killed him, she says that he was not at that moment, but she knew he was going to, she said, “I knew it was coming.”

James and Hannah deserve the 2010 Pulitzer Prize for 1: Public Service; 2: Breaking News Reporting: 3: Investigative Reporting by an individual or team; 4: National Reporting; 5: Breaking News Photography… This is the “BIGGEST” – “BEST” NEWS story I have seen in years!

It’s quite TELLING when a 20 year old girl and 25 year old guy out-sleuth the entire US Main Stream Media!

The death of journalism started long before that, but it’s become blatant since the rise of alternative sources of news. What’s amazing is that tv news outlets that are losing viewership en masse, and print media that are hemoraging circulation, would ignore a story that entails sex trafficking, corruption, a nationwide organization with heavy political ties and has two genuine heroes because they’d rather protect the left than help themselves. Imagine how shocked Times readers are going to be when they read about this in other venues.

@Jon in CA, Journalism was long dead and buried the day that we watched Bush reading “My Pet Goat,” upside down with a bunch of kids, while God-knows-who, imploded the World Trade Center.
The two-party system in this country is a sham. Democrats and Republicans are two halves of the same coin. The media is owned by the people that run the world.

We have CNN on in our office about 6 out of 12 hour per day. (CNBC the reset), but I have yet to see these full videos. Why does CNN not show them. I am thinking about opening a Medical Pot Shop. I wonder if I qualify for a grant or tax advice from Acorn?

Unbelievable that ABC, CBS, nor NBC are reporting on this story. They didn’t report on the Van Jones story until he resigned. Do we have government ran news media??? Are we turning into Russia, or N. Korea? We need to boycott the sponsors of these news shows who are suppressing the news. This is unsettling.

Lets see if i get this right……. when “60 Minutes” does an undercover video capture, its known as good, thorough journalism. But when ordinary citizens go after crooks and find evidence of corruption, its disgusting(i believe thats the word Congressman Hoyer used to describe James and Hannah).

Giving assistance to a supposed pimp, and prostitute as well as helping them traffic underage sex workers is most shocking, but is that the worst of it?
Some issues that effect many more Americans include:
1. How many people have had to pay more in taxes to pay for government because acorn encouraged individuals to cheat the IRS.
2 How much has it cost tax payers to pay for government assistance benefiting individuals from using acorn’s advice to lie on taxes.
3. What has been the cost to the entire Americans economy due to acorns participation in getting people into home they could not afford resulting in mortgage crisis and credit crunch, worsening an economic swing.

I am so happy Obama is President, because it causes such froth among righties. Also, that such an insignificant story can bring so much irrationality to an already irrational bunch.
This story pales beside Iran-Contra, Bush’s lies about Iraq, and Nixon’s burglary squad. Really. Get a grip. Other media sources aren’t covering it because it isn’t important, in the scope of our countrie’s pressing matters, such as health care, affordable housing, education, etc. But why talk about what matters when you have nothing reasonable to say, and no solutions for these important issues.

The three things you listed are concerns of the left. Right-wingers are confident that hard working Americans will provide health care, housing, and education for themselves and their children. We consider the government’s engagement of those three principles you mentioned evidence of corruption rather than a necesary intervention. What people can do for themselves is not the role of government. That includes providing for those who are less advantaged unless they are defrauded or abused, in which case government is obligated to provide a platform for citizens to petition for redress of grievances, by proxy if necessary.
The White House has no interest in lowering your rent. It does have an interest in making you free to move somewhere cheaper.

I think it’s far more likely that she’s full of it. Additionally, I’m not sure O’Keefe wore the pimp getup into the office. In any case your comment is ridiculous, because they were able to say the same exact thing at many other offices where the ACORN employees were more than willing to help them engage in the underage sex trade. Let’s even say you’re right that she punked them, what about the other four videos? Are they OK? Congratulations for tacitly defending child rape and sex slavery.
